- Work through the flagged listings by hand. This is not a class of error you should bulk-fix with a script, because the correct copy has to come from the actual product.
- Re-run the check after every bulk import. Drift is reintroduced by the same process every time.
- If the product was imported from a supplier feed, verify the image matches too. Mismatches usually travel together.
Why an agent cares
This is the most damaging finding in the audit and the least visible from the admin. A product is titled one thing and described as another, usually because a bulk import mapped the wrong row, or a duplicate-and-edit left the old copy in place.
A shopper skims the photo and the price and often never notices. An agent reads the text as the authoritative claim about the item, and will state that claim to a buyer. Now the mismatch is a promise you did not intend to make.
Google Merchant Center treats a description that contradicts the product as misrepresentation, which is an account-level suspension rather than a per-item disapproval. It is one of the few catalogue faults that can stop all paid traffic in a day.
