How to fix it
- Prioritise your best sellers rather than trying to lift the whole catalogue at once.
- Answer the three questions a buyer asks: what is it, what is it made of, who is it for.
Why an agent cares
Very short descriptions are common on fashion and on stores that rely on imagery to sell. That works on a person scrolling; it fails on a system reading.
The threshold is not about length for its own sake. It is that below roughly forty words, a description tends to contain a category and an adjective and nothing else, which is not enough to be retrieved for a specific question.

Other substance checks
Duplicate product descriptionsCopy shared across many products reads as a supplier feed, and gives an agent no basis to prefer one of your items over another. The description describes a different productWhen the body copy never mentions the item in the title, the listing is either mis-imported or wrong, and both are treated as misrepresentation.Descriptions with no measurable specificationsAdjectives cannot be compared. Numbers can. Copy with no figures gives an agent nothing to filter or rank on.Keyword-stuffed product titlesA title built for 2015 search engines cannot be parsed into brand, product and variant by anything reading it today.
